SEO & Google Buzz
Posted on March 11, 2010
The SEO world is buzzing about the potential of Google Buzz. There isn’t really anything fancy about it, imagine a mix of Twitter and FriendFeed. The biggest point of difference between Google Buzz and other social networking platforms is that Google Buzz is integrated into your Gmail account – this is very handy indeed.
What is most important to us though is Google Buzz and the effectiveness of SEO, the most facinating aspects are:
- The ‘implicit’ priority that Google Buzz will get on the Google Search Engine
- The ‘auto-following’ – you can leverage Gmail to grow your social network more rapidly (compared with Twitter) since Buzz has a built-in viral feature by auto-following contacts
The possible opportunities for SEO and local SEO are as follows:
- Google may interpret links from these posts to your website as having some marginal impact on your PageRank
- People may read your tweets, news posts and thereby directly o to your website
- The posts themselves may show up on Google searches and give you some temporary visibility for free and for your target keywords
I believe Google Buzz has a huge and vast opportunity that may be exploited by search engine optimizers, if you are clever enough. So buzz your way around on Google Buzz.

I found this blog while searching google. Quite impressive too, since google tends to display relatively old results but this one is very recent! Anyway, pretty informative, especially since this is not something many people can write something decent about. Take care…
