Using Additional Information In Google Places
Posted on September 2, 2010
Using Additional Information In Google Places is something many of our clients do not use and is something vital to any good localised SEO campaign. That being said, I can understand to some degree why it is underused – it is just so confusing to some people with how it is formatted.
A good example of the power of this section of Google Places can been seen with a client of our Flowers Cairns. In Flowers Cairns Google Places listing you can see in the additional details section we have listed in the left section of the list the categories of flowers for the business, and in the left you can see all relevant hyperlinks directing customers directly to the landing pages. See below.

This is a very insightful article on Google Places, I really had no idea about this section and seriously had no idea you could insert links to other parts of my website. Really cool advice, thanks.

Great idea – WTF?! I can’t believe I do not know about this, I can’t wait to give it a try.

Hi Andrew
Great post about how to use the complicated ‘additional information’ part of Google Places.
I am most impressed that you have taught me that I can enter URL’s into this section. This is quite a coup for our business as now we have linked to all our products, which I am quite sure will add strength to our URL.

I think that this part of Google Places is just so difficult to understand and even harder to make the most of. However, now, I finally get it. Great work and thanks.

Cracking advice there on Google Places. I really like the way you have used images to help us less tech advanced out too.
